Twin Cities jazz vocal legends Patty Peterson, Debbie Duncan and Connie Evingson will be sharing the stage on behalf of STRIVE, a Minneapolis South Rotary Club youth development program.

The event entitled Women Who Cook will feature each vocalist doing a solo set with a combined finale. The trio of vocalists will be backed by "3 Flights Up," a new ensemble of Twin Cities jazz veterans that includes bassist Michael Gold, trombonist Dave Graf, saxophonist Doug Haining, drummer Nathan Norman and pianist/accordionist Don Stille.

All proceeds will provide materials and scholarships for high school students who, starting in the lower third of the graduating class, worked with Rotary Club mentors throughout the year to improve their attendance, grades and outlooks on education and life.

IS THIS THE "REAL" WOMEN WHO COOK?

The name 'Women Who Cook" belongs to Marian Moore, producer of the fantastic ensemble so popular in the 1980's and '90's in the Twin Cities.

The Rotary Club chose the name without knowing its history and ownership and thanks Ms. Moore for graciously allowing its use for this worthy cause!
