Pivot Programs For Youth
Minneapolis South's Pivot Programs For Youth challenge our community's young people to stretch themselves in new directions. This is the umbrella for all of the club's youth initiatives.
Pivot programs include:
• STRIVE - a high school mentoring program to help students to the goal of graduation ... and beyond. Rotary mentors work with students weekly to give them the skills and confidence needed to succeed in high school, post-secondary education and their careers
• North Star Rotary Youth Exchange - this program gives Minneapolis high school students the chance to broaden their horizons and become world citizens by spending an exchange year in a foreign country. The club also hosts foreign students in South Minneapolis high schools, which brings the world into our schools and communities.
• Job Shadowing - high school students get the opportunity to explore careers and have an on-the-job shadowing experience
• Mentoring - members mentor students at Transitions Plus High School to guide students with developmental challenges as they prepare for the working world
