Lake Street Speaks
A few years ago Susan Shields sold The Airtex Group, a leading cut and sew manufacturer that creates products for retailers including Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware - but she had no intention of retiring.

Instead, she knew she'd be helping others - mentoring entrepreneurs, sitting on advisory boards - but the past 12 months completely shifted this drive to serve.

She's poured herself into creating a visual memoir art book of the murals around Lake Street along with the poetry of a young African American woman from North Minneapolis. This spring she reached out to Nate Berkus and his team and they have been extremely supportive. Nate has funded a short video promoting the book and has agreed to market the book through his millions of followers. The book is more or less complete with 80 pages of artwork and poetry from Rashaunea Ambers Winston.

Most importantly 100% of the profits with be divided between four non-profits:
  • Appetite for Change
  • Migizi
  • The Real Minneapolis
  • Memorialize the Movement
